Hearing Services

Medicare Part B covers diagnostic hearing and balance (fall risk) exams if your doctor or other health care provider orders them to find out if you need medical treatment. However, traditional Medicare (Parts A and B) and Medicare supplemental insurance (Medigap) plans do not cover hearing aids or exams for fitting hearing aids. Some Medicare Advantage plans may offer limited services. You can contact your Medicare Advantage plan to see if they offer this benefit. These local resources may make it possible for you to receive the hearing aids or other audiology services.

For more information or questions about the resources below, contact each organization directly.

Amarillo Hearing Foundation

Amarillo Hearing Foundation was formed out of Amarillo Hearing Clinic to meet the hearing healthcare needs of seniors living in the Texas Panhandle. AHF serves Panhandle residents who are 65 or older, living on a reduced or fixed income.

Patients interested in receiving services through AHF should contact Amarillo Hearing Clinic to schedule a consultation with our on staff Doctors of Audiology.  If recommendations for amplification are made, the patient will review and complete a financial needs assessment through our application process.  If approved, AHF will provide funding for treatment and the patient will be fit with amplification.
