As part of the Senior Hunger Solutions Initiative, the Mary E. Bivins Foundation assisted in funding the Panhandle PBS production of Broken Bread: Examining Senior Food Insecurity in the Texas Panhandle, a four-part series covering the causes, regional disparities, and diverse impacts of food insecurity among older adults and seniors in the area.
Broken Bread provides a very human perspective to the issue with interviews of older adults, service providers, academics, and community members from across the Panhandle to give insight into the real and lived experience of food insecurity among older adults.
