Transportation is essential to accessing services in the community. The following are options for general transportation services as well as non-emergency medical transportation both within the City of Amarillo and across the Panhandle region.

ACT-Connect
For transportation within the City of Amarillo, contact the Amarillo City Transit Office for more information on the paratransit system available for individuals who are unable to ride the fixed route system. This curb-to-curb service is ideal for older adults needing transportation to medical appointments or the grocery store.
An application is required to be completed prior to the first trip.
Amarillo Public Transit Office | ACT-Connect
The Area Agency on Aging of the Panhandle has a program to provide a number of free rides to older adults over the age of 60 in partnership with ACT-Connect. Contact the Public Transit office directly to see if you qualify. Program is dependent on the availability of funds.
The City is currently offering a Ride-Share Voucher Pilot Program to provides affordable, curb-to-curb transportation for eligible Amarillo residents. Riders pay just $1 per trip. The program began on February 16, 2026, and will operate for six months. Contact the Amarillo Public Transit Office or go online to apply.
